Growth percentile calculator

Enter sex, age, and measurements, and we'll calculate weight, height, and head-circumference percentiles using the WHO growth standards. See at a glance where your baby falls among babies of the same age.

Sex

Enter sex, age, and at least one measurement to see percentiles.

This result is reference information based on general public standards and is not a substitute for medical diagnosis, treatment, or professional advice. The trend over time matters more than any single percentile. If anything about your baby concerns you, please consult a pediatric professional.

FAQ

What does percentile mean?

A percentile tells you roughly where your baby ranks among 100 babies of the same sex and age. For example, a weight at the 60th percentile means your baby is heavier than about 60 of 100 babies the same age and lighter than 40. Between the 3rd and 97th percentile is considered a typical range.

Which standard do you use?

We use the LMS values from the World Health Organization (WHO) Child Growth Standards to calculate z-scores and percentiles. It covers the standards for boys and girls from 0–60 months (up to age 5).

Is a low or high percentile a problem?

The trend of the growth curve over time matters more than any single measurement. If your baby is growing steadily along a consistent curve, the percentile being high or low is usually not a concern. If the curve changes sharply, consult your pediatrician.

Does height differ when measured lying down versus standing?

Yes. In the WHO standards, length lying down is used for under 2 years and standing height for 2 years and up. This calculator automatically applies the standard for the age you enter, so measuring in the way that matches the age gives accurate results.
